Marks & Spencer Candy Contains Beef Gelatine

by DeM0NiCk on December 2, 2010, under Tidbits

Yes you heard right. The next time you pick up candy from Marks & Spencer do take a look on the content before you make a purchase.

both candies above contains beef gelatine

Now, imagine if a religion forbids one to consume beef, are these then considered forbidden to be consumed? The funny thing is, there is no warning label whatsoever on the packaging. Only when you flip the pack and read the ingredients would you only know the content. So tell me…is it against any religion to be consuming these candies?

  • It's not so much about the beef gelatine, it's about M&S responsibility to highlight these facts to consumers. Just like how McD's does it with their Big Mac and other products that contains beef.

  • Loads of sweets contain beef gelatine. I know some chewies that are commonly found here in Malaysia have beef gelatine.... I know a friend who doesn't eat these sweets because she is a hindu and doesn't eat beef
