Recapping A Great Week, “To Arthur!”

by DeM0NiCk on September 28, 2009, under Parties

I’M FINALLY BACK! I’ve neglected the blogging world for quite awhile for 2 reasons. First reason, I decided to go on a month’s hiatus from updating simply because I didn’t feel like it. Second reason? Well, as some of you might know, I recently sat for a Microsoft certification exam. The exam really stressed me out. I sacrificed the long Hari Raya weekend and spent most of the time at home studying for the exam. I guessed it paid off in the end. My exams was on Thursday, just after the long break. How did I do?…well, lets just say you can call me a “Microsoft Certified Professional” now *wink*.

Oh..another good thing was that I won 2 tickets to watch Black Eyed Peas in concert in conjunction with Arthur’s Day. How did I win?…err..I was given an entry form for every pint of Guinness I drank and all I had were 4 entries. What luck right? The party was great! Although I must say, Black Eyed Peas don’t really sound as nice live as they do on their records. I reckon it could be due to the sound system and the venue which was held in an open environment where sound are often displaced.

Here are scenes from Arthur’s Day

“To Arthur!”

booo to the sign!

met Puei Ee at the event too..

watch the pro at work…hehe

Black Eyed Peas Yo!

Fergie was hot as always, although she sounded a bit off that night…again I blame the sound system and the venue. For me there were 2 highlights during the concert. One was definitely when wil.i.am remixed songs from the widest range of genres. From “House of Pain”, to “Red Hot Chilli Peppers” to “Michael Jackson”, he simply rocked the house. And then, came the finale where they sang “I Gotta Feeling” where the crowd absolutely went bananas! The night ended with a massive fireworks display. What a way to end the week won’t you say?

Diana Krall Live

by DeM0NiCk on October 5, 2008, under Music

As mentioned in previous post, my friends and I went to watch Diana Krall perform at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on the second day of the Hari Raya holidays. Here are some picture which I took discreetly (we weren’t suppose to take pictures, but I did anyway…without flash of course).

While Diana Krall was…well Diana Krall, which was excellent, overall the concert was kind of a let down. All of us felt a bit short changed when the concert only lasted about 1 hour 30 mins. To make it worse, I think the venue was not made to hold acoustic events such as this as I personally feel the sound could have been better. Oh well, it certainly was an experience nevertheless.

After the concert, we adjourned across the street at Sevenatenine for drinks and to chill out.

This last pic was purely for fun ya…so don’t get any stupid ideas! It wasn’t meant to be up, but since my friend decided to post it up on Facebook…so I thought WTH…just let the whole world see it too! Hahaha.. :p

Diana Krall Concert Tickets

by DeM0NiCk on September 4, 2008, under Music

Diana Krall

Woohoo! Diana Krall is coming to Kuala Lumpur…and I just got tickets to watch her perform on 2nd October at KL Convention Centre. I managed to gather a few friends to go watch it with me, and in total…I had to buy like 11 tickets during my lunch break today. The cheapest tickets were going for RM288 and if you’re a Visa card holder, you get it at RM262.20. Quite pricey for a concert ticket if you ask me, considering it’s like the cheapest and the farthest from the stage…but hey…it’s Diana Krall wei! So you can imagine the guy at the ticket counter asking me for a second time if he had heard correctly that I wanted 11 tickets. According to him, at most people buy 3 at a time…because it’s expensive…and I’m the first person who wanted more than 10 tickets at one go! Well, that’s what you get when you got to be the one who buys for a bunch of jazz lovers.

can you count how many tix there are?…hehehe

Anyway, for the price I’m paying, it better not be a disappointment.

Marié Digby Live In Kuala Lumpur

by DeM0NiCk on May 15, 2008, under Music

These are some snippets of Marié Digby performing in a packed One Utama shopping centre

A packed shopping mall on a Wednesday night

Really nothing much to shout about, she just performed about 4 or 5 songs, then proceeded with the autograph signing session. There were a lot of kiasu people that already started lining up at the signing counter while she was still performing. Oh well, I’m not complaining since it’s free.

U2//VERTIGO//2006 Tour - Melbourne

by DeM0NiCk on November 27, 2006, under Music, Travels

Ok, I know there will be an insane amount of people who will hate me for this…but TOO BAD! I got the bragging rights!

I was in Melbourne last Sunday and was in Docklands doing some sight seeing and noticed that it was considerably packed for a Sunday evening. While not knowing what’s going on, my friend then said that U2 is in town having a concert at the Telstra Dome. Of course we all went crazy contemplating whether or not to get the tickets and if there are any left, seeing that this is U2 that we’re talking about, it probably might have been sold out ages ago. So we just tried our luck…and guess what??..WE GOT THE TICKETS!! Woohoo! Of course the cheaper ones were snapped up and all thats left were the AUD130 and AUD199 tickets. So we bought the 130 tix, and I must say, I would even pay AUD199 for it, simply because it was that f**king awesome.

Here are some of the pictures at the concert

Me and my sis outside the Telstra Dome

Our tickets…Woohoo!!

Sold out crowd. 50,000 people at least!

Watch video 2 - Vertigo

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the opening act was Kanye West and the encore performance lasted about 1 and half hours. To sum it all up, it was the best concert I been to by far (not that I’ve been to many). Kinda hard to top this one I bet.
