The “Evil” Sales Lady
by DeM0NiCk on November 29, 2009, under Tidbits
I swear it’s true! I was at Pavilion on Saturday together with Sylvia. She was back over the long weekend and wanted to get some cosmetics at MAC. Now, all she wanted to get was a blusher as she was running out of it. It was Sylvia’s first purchase ever at MAC, so she didn’t know which product works best for her. The sales lady came up to her and recommended her the blusher that suits her best. Now at this point, she was already contented on only purchasing the blusher, but then the sales lady told her to try other products that works best with the recommended blusher. Of course at first Sylvia resisted, but the sales lady did a really good job at convincing her (and me as I was standing beside her) to see the difference with and without the other supplementary products.
In the end, instead of just a blusher, she bought a tube of liquid foundation and also a bottle of loose powder. The sales lady was kind enough to give her some sample products to try (in hopes to get my friend to come back). Total damage? About RM260! I’m so glad I don’t use makeup.
Oh My Dear Candice…

It happened just so sudden. I wasn’t prepared for it. It was a rainy night, and I was traveling back with her after a night out with some friends when it happened. She began to act weirdly, as though she is trying to tell me something. I just ignored and carried on. She reacted even more violently….choking, shaking, gasping for air…as though it was a sign that her time is up. Yet I pushed her to go even further, thinking that she was just being emotional and will come to her senses soon. Then it happened…the next day…she didn’t respond to me calling. There wasn’t a sound…not even a whisper. Is she dead?! I panicked and called for help. A friend came over to help me try “resurrect” her but to no avail. I called for the professionals and they came and took her away in hopes of reviving her. I pray that she will be well and that everything will be ok again…and that it doesn’t cost me a bomb to fix my car!
If Only This Actually Happened…

I had a dream last night. It was a rather weird one, because it really seemed something out of a Hollywood movie. I swear I’m not making any of this up, but here’s how it went…
I found myself in a train station…and of all places somewhere in Canada. I knew it was Canada because there was a flag somewhere in the background. Anyway, I was at a cafe nearby, presumably to catch the next train to some place. While sipping on my cuppa, I was approached by this attractive young lady (think Kristin Kruek) who asked if she could join me because she didn’t want to sit alone. She had the most gorgeous eyes I’ve ever seen, cute pouty lips and long black silky hair…of course without hesitation I offered her the seat opposite me. She then introduced herself to me simply as Patricia. She didn’t give a last name, but she looked to be of mixed parentage, Canadian Chinese I presume.
Anyway, we then chatted away and she told me she works as an air stewardess and was there to catch a train to the airport. I can’t really remember in detail the conversations that we had, but I do remember giving her my business card and asked her to keep in touch somehow. Then the announcement of her train’s departure suddenly was broadcast through the station’s PA system. She told me she had to leave and wrote her number on the back of my business card and returned it back to me. Later, we both stood up, and I gave her a hug and said our goodbyes. I think I had a tear in my eye at that point…and I watched her board her train.
Soon after, I got up only to realize that it was just a dream…DARN IT! Imagine what it could be if something like that did happen in real life. Anyway, the sad part is…I CAN’T REMEMBER THE NUMBERS on the back of the card…Haha! =(
Super Multitasking
by DeM0NiCk on March 18, 2008, under Tidbits
Who says men can’t multitask? I did (but should NEVER be attempted unless your’re a trainned professional =p) something this morning which just proved the theory wrong. This was what happend this morning. I was on my way to the office, when suddenly I received a text message from a colleague from the office telling me that a client was looking for me and it was REALLY URGENT. Well, I text back my colleague to ask if she taken down the number of the client but she said the client told her that I got her number. Hmmm…I was about 10 mins away from the office, so I just told my colleague that I’m nearby and will return the call once I get in.
Right after doing so, I got stuck in a traffic jam! Well…feeling uneasy, I wanted to call the client back since it was urgent..BUT….the contact number is in my laptop on the back seat of my car!….So what to do? Being stuck in a jam, I stretched out to the back seat and grabbed my laptop, turned it on and searched through my contact list while driving!…So now I got the laptop on my lap, and my mobile phone on the one hand, and the other holding the steering wheel! I was lucky that traffic was slow otherwise I think I would have gotten into an accident. After all that trouble, it turns out the client only wanted some text copy to be changed on the already “live” site…not really crucial if you ask me….GAH!!!
Luckly there wasn’t any cops around at that time and I think if I had another extra hand, I would use my camera to take a photo of how I did it…hahaha…I wonder what the world record is for multitasking while driving…
King of the Road?
by DeM0NiCk on February 16, 2007, under Tidbits
I was driving this morning and I saw a sticker attached to a Kancil that read “KING OF THE ROAD” in bright yellow. Then, a bus was tail-gating the poor car and it had to move out of the way. So much for being the King huh?
