Hot Cars and Girls At Zouk KL

by DeM0NiCk on October 20, 2009, under Parties

Agnes, Mike and I were invited by a client of ours for the unveiling of Malaysia’s new drift team at Zouk KL on Sunday. The event had the 2 main elements to make a budget version of The Fast and the Furious movie..the cars, and the girls. The event was sponsored by FXOpen and the drift cars were built by Formula D.

my media pass..

We were there, sort of on duty as we were given media and VIP passes to take photos for their upcoming website revamp. With the media passes, we were entitled for free food and drinks at the VIP lounge.

Check out the cars..

And the girls..

Being the first drift team to represent Malaysia in the international drifting circuit, there was a short demo on what these cars can do. It’s amazing to see how the drivers control the car with such skill and precision. With the aide of our local traffic cops, they managed to turn a short stretch of Jalan Ampang into a “drift zone”. Believe me, it’s no easy task to drive one of these cars even at normal speeds, let alone doing corners, drifting and maneuvering around in such a confined area. They have zero margin for errors as the crowd we pretty close and there were no safety barriers as well.

All in all, Agnes managed to take quite a number of decent shots which will be used for their upcoming (and improved) website. Well done Agnes! So until then, stay tuned for another unveiling…unveiling of the new website that is.

theQguides.com Launch @ Twenty One

by DeM0NiCk on October 6, 2009, under Parties

Last week, Integricity Press launched theQguides, an online food portal, at TwentyOne Kitchen + Bar in Kuala Lumpur. The event was attended by partners, people from the media as well as local celebrities. Integicitizens were there to give support, and well…also for the free flow of booze of course. The place was packed, but for once…it’s packed with people we know.

It was a milestone event for Integricity, and certainly a start of many better things to come. The turn out was great, the people were excellent. The night ended when we all went over to Jalan Alor for some supper and for some people to sober up before heading home.

Recapping A Great Week, “To Arthur!”

by DeM0NiCk on September 28, 2009, under Parties

I’M FINALLY BACK! I’ve neglected the blogging world for quite awhile for 2 reasons. First reason, I decided to go on a month’s hiatus from updating simply because I didn’t feel like it. Second reason? Well, as some of you might know, I recently sat for a Microsoft certification exam. The exam really stressed me out. I sacrificed the long Hari Raya weekend and spent most of the time at home studying for the exam. I guessed it paid off in the end. My exams was on Thursday, just after the long break. How did I do?…well, lets just say you can call me a “Microsoft Certified Professional” now *wink*.

Oh..another good thing was that I won 2 tickets to watch Black Eyed Peas in concert in conjunction with Arthur’s Day. How did I win?…err..I was given an entry form for every pint of Guinness I drank and all I had were 4 entries. What luck right? The party was great! Although I must say, Black Eyed Peas don’t really sound as nice live as they do on their records. I reckon it could be due to the sound system and the venue which was held in an open environment where sound are often displaced.

Here are scenes from Arthur’s Day

“To Arthur!”

booo to the sign!

met Puei Ee at the event too..

watch the pro at work…hehe

Black Eyed Peas Yo!

Fergie was hot as always, although she sounded a bit off that night…again I blame the sound system and the venue. For me there were 2 highlights during the concert. One was definitely when wil.i.am remixed songs from the widest range of genres. From “House of Pain”, to “Red Hot Chilli Peppers” to “Michael Jackson”, he simply rocked the house. And then, came the finale where they sang “I Gotta Feeling” where the crowd absolutely went bananas! The night ended with a massive fireworks display. What a way to end the week won’t you say?

Trilogy @ 7atenine

by DeM0NiCk on August 16, 2009, under Parties

Last weekend, 7atenine KL celebrated their 3rd anniversary in style by having a 36 hour party. As media partners, we were invited to a private session of free flow alcohol and tapas. Media partners were sort of more privileged than invited guest I think as it was held inside a private room upstairs and we were served non-stop until about 7-ish. Yes, the party started from 4PM, so we (my colleagues and I) were drinking champagne and beer at 4PM. We were already tipsy and full by dinner time.

drinking at 4PM

Oh, did I mentioned there were also 9 Russian models that sat with us on our table that night? Hehe…It was really a fun night. We stayed on until about 11PM, and by that time, I personally cannot (and shouldn’t) drink anymore because I had to send one of my colleague back.

We were also on the invite list for one of the sessions the next day. The dress code was “Chiq White”, so everyone need to be wearing white (or almost all white). Again, we started sipping champagne at 4PM. Ok, I’m lazy to elaborate much on all that happened, because there are just too many stuff going on. I shall let the pictures do the the talking then..btw..all pictures below are courtesy of Ruhani Rabin.

yes..that’s a real snake!

If you ever go to 7atenine in KL, I strongly recommend you their Long Island Tea..it’s one of the strongest and the best so far that I’ve tasted. We ordered 2 jugs that night, and by the end of the night, everyone was really tired and bloated. Congratulations 7atenine on your 3rd year, and thank you for inviting us to be a part of your celebration.

Howl At The Moon

by DeM0NiCk on August 11, 2009, under Parties, Travels

I was in Singapore again last week, mainly to meet up with my friends and party because the last time I was there (just a week before that), I only stayed for less than 48 hours. Well, I manage to meet up with Joyce and her friends and she took me to this place call Howl At The Moon. It’s located at Peranakan Place, along Orchard Road (specifically along an alleyway right next to CenterPoint Shopping Center). I’ve got to say I haven’t come across such a place back here in KL, and it would be great that they do open up a franchise.

“..Howl at the Moon takes the term "piano bar" to heights, with the piano players offering up witty discourse while encouraging the audience to "sing-along" to songs almost everyone knows by heart. Anyone who delights in good music will have a wonderful experience." - Howl At The Moon Tampa

If you want some fun having a guys/girls/group night out in Singapore, this is the place to be. There are performances from a band that entertains the crowd through a unique mix of music, comedy and sarcasm. What I like about the place that it has a “Phrase of the Night” board for the highest bidder. So, if you want to put up a quote or something quirky, all you have to do is to pay more that the specified price on the board and your quote will be up for all to see. They even have a “High-Roller” column, where bidding starts at say SGD$20. It’s really an ingenious way to get the crowd participate and to also generate income for the place…brilliant!

I just have to take this “Phrase of the Night” :P

I really had fun together with Joyce and her friends. If you know Joyce, you know how wacky she can be at times…

I ended up super tipsy by the time I took the cab back to my hotel (it was around 330AM). The amazing thing was..the cab driver didn’t know where my hotel was exactly, so I told him to stop me somewhere nearby and I walked back (2 streets ok!)…not bad right?  Thanks Joyce for a really awesome night. It was really good catching up with you again. It was my first time there that night, and I can already tell you that I would want go back there again.
